“Lagen in rotsformaties, scheuren in gedroogde rivierbeddingen of knoestige boombast. Het vraagt een grote vaardigheid op de draaischijf om deze texturen te vertalen in klei. Mijn werk wordt afgewerkt met matte, ruwe glazuren en gestookt op hoge temperatuur . Vaak voeg ik geboetseerde takvormen of steles toe. Sommige stukken krijgen een rijk accent door het gebruik van goudluster”.
”Layers in rock formations, cracks in dried river beds or gnarled tree bark. It needs great skills on the potter’s wheel to turn these textures into clay. Matte, rough glazes, fired at high temperatures finish off the work. The addition of elements such as hand sculpted branches or steles, or the use of gold lustre makes every piece unique.”
Ik ben opgeleid als docent Beeldende Vorming en Gezondheidskunde. Sinds 1991 exposeer ik regelmatig. Mijn werk is te zien in particuliere collecties, galeries en musea in binnen - en buitenland (zoals het Verenigd Koninkrijk, Taiwan, Zuid-Korea en China) en heeft in verschillende publicaties gestaan.
Ik geef les bij de Nederlandse Keramiek Opleiding in Gouda als docent draaitechnieken.
Ik ontving in 2020 een bronzen onderscheiding voor mijn inzending naar de 8th Taiwan International Golden Teapot Competition and Exhibition.
In 2019 ontving ik een bronzen onderscheiding voor mijn werk ‘Fruit of Sedimentary Rocks’ bij de 1 th China Changchun ‘Yatai Lotus Mountain Prize’ International Ceramics Contest.

I am trained as a teacher with a degree in Arts and Crafts and Health education. Since 1991 I exhibit my work on a regular base. My work is on display in private collections, galleries and museums in the Netherlands and abroad (e.g. United Kingdom, Taiwan, South Korea and China), and has been featured in several publications.
I teach wheel throwing techniques at the Dutch Ceramics Training Institute NKO in Gouda.
In 2020 I was awardend with a bronze prize for my exhibit in the 8th Taiwan International Golden Teapot Competition and Exhibition.
I received a bronze award for my work "Fruit of Sedimentary Rocks" at the 1 st China Changchun "Yatai Lotus Mountain Prize" International Ceramics Contest 2019.
I received the oeuvre prize for my work in 2018 from the Fund ArtiBrak Foundation in Voorburg.
